A city with a human scale
Trnava is a regional capital in western Slovakia with around 63,000 registered residents. That rounded figure describes the city itself, rather than the wider tourism destination. Its appeal lies in the combination of an approachable historic centre and the everyday life of a working, studying and culturally active city.
Old walls, new conversations
The medieval centre is a starting point, not the whole story. Behind the church towers are cafés, galleries, creative spaces and university life. Trnava University, the University of Ss. Cyril and Methodius and the Slovak University of Technology’s local faculty contribute to the city’s academic character and its connections with business.
Why it works for meetings
A compact centre can make the time between sessions part of the visit: a guided walk becomes a welcome, a gallery introduces a different perspective and dinner creates space for conversation. Choose the hotel and meeting venue together, then check the actual walking route, access and transfer needs for the group.
One city, a wider destination
Región Trnava’s offer connects the city with the villages and landscapes around it. Smolenice brings a castle and forests, Dolná Krupá gardens and honey, Voderady a manor setting, and Cífer-Pác archaeology. The destination presented here should not be confused with the full administrative Trnava self-governing region.
A first visit that invites a second day
Begin with a guided city introduction, leave time for a café and choose one cultural visit. Stay for dinner and continue into the countryside the following day. The linked one-day and two-day ideas offer a starting point; the hotel and dining catalogues help turn the outline into a practical stay.
People make the programme personal
Tell the destination team who is coming, why they are travelling and what would make the visit worthwhile. They can help you explore local partners and programme options. Guiding languages, private access and availability should be agreed for the specific date, so the final itinerary reflects the people in the group.
